Yan Qi

Flute professor of Xinghai Conservatory of Music, master's supervisors, deputy director of Orchestra Department, member of Chinese Musicians Association, council member of China Orchestra Association council member and deputy secretary general of China Flute Union, guest professor of South China Normal University, Shantou University, Zhaoqing College, vice-chairman of Hong Kong International Association of Classical Musician, and council member of Guangdong Society of Higher Education for Music.

Graduated Bachelor's degree from Central Music Conservatory, China. Master degree from Historique de l'Ecole Normale de Musique, France. and his musical mentors were Professor Kong Fansheng,Professor Yu Jixue, Professor Zhu Tongde, Professor Pierre·Yves·Artaud. he won the highest honor for scholarship awarded by the French government. he won the second prize of “UFAM International Flute Competition”, the first prize of “European Music Contest” the second prize of “UNESCO Music Contest”, the first place of “Gold Score” Professional Flute Competition Highest Class and was the winner of “Golden Score Cup”.

He has participated in the performance with China Youth Symphony Orchestra, China Broadcasting and Symphony Orchestra, Central Ballet Dancing Symphony Orchestra, Beijing Symphony Orches-tra, Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, and other groups for multiple times. Yan was invited by the following institutions for personal solo performance, music concert for indoor music, symphonies and master classes: National Flute Association, Sydney Opera House, UNESCO Headquarter in France, Taipei National Concert Hall, Hong Kong Concert Hall, Macau Conservatory, Beijing Con-cert Hall, Central Conservatory of Music, Xinghai Conservatory of Music, Shenyang Conservatory of Music, Shenzhen Concert Hall, Yulan Theatre, Guangzhou Theatre, Hunan Symphony Orches-tra, and so on.

He acted as the judges for foreign and domestic important and professional competitions, including: Nikolai International Flute Competition, Woodwind Solo Competition by Central Conservatory of Music.

As the art director, Yan successfully organized the activity of “Cross-strait Flute Art Festival in Guangdong, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau”. He as the main organizer and person in charge for the cruise wind band of the opening ceremony of Guangzhou Asian Games. In the past years, Yan successfully organized hundreds of art festivals and competitions for wind instruments and music for Guangdong Province, in the South China District, or in the whole country. Also, Yan has orga-nized concerts and master classes participated in domestic and foreign performers.
